Rachel Greene is an author I've followed for a long time, and I've read and loved both of her books. She also has a formatting company, Penoaks, and has done screenwriting.
She was involved in the Month of the Novel Project, which I love.

Hi guys! I'm over here poking away at homework and manuscripts, so come say hi! I'll be writing "live" tonight at 6pm, working on the next book in my plot prompts series. Come get some inspiration and mock the spastic way I type! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the Month of the Novel videos. Have you all considered creating another season?
ReplyDeleteI would have to ask Jordan, the producer. I would absolutely be on board for another season, and I suspect most of the other creators would as well. If you want a third season, feel free to harass him on Twitter! :D https://twitter.com/Malfhok
DeleteI will do that. ;)
DeleteI LOVE the cover (and title!) of Red Rain, it's so intriguing! Who designed it?

Thank you! Victor Noordhoek did the original celestial art. I don't know if he's still doing covers... But he might if you bribed him. ;)
DeleteSo I know that Red Rain is scifi, and has a lot to do with Mars (I haven't read it all yet, but I've got the audiobook downloaded and ready to go for a trip we're taking this weekend :D)
ReplyDeleteScifi and fantasy are my favorite genres to read and write, and I personally love a mixture of scifi-fantasy, what some call "space fantasy" (think like Star Wars, the Thor movies, that sort of thing). :D
How did you decide to do scifi, and make it feel right and not just a copy of so much other stuff out there?
Ahh, hybrid genres are the best! I've always loved sci-fi, but if I had to limit myself to one genre, it would be something like alternate history or steampunk. <3
DeleteMy first-ever novel was sci-fi (it was fanfiction, haha), so it was natural that my first finished work be sci-fi, I suppose. I'd had the idea in my head for awhile, so it was a short trip to getting it finished and published. A good, easy first work for an author who was still figuring stuff out. I guess you'd have to ask my readers if it's that unique, though... :3
