WELCOME TO INDIE E-CON DAY FOUR!!!
It's hard to believe that we're already on day four. Indie e-Con has sped past so quickly.
Marketing. Self-promotion. The murky waters that almost all indie authors fear to tread. Convincing people that they need to spend money on us to buy our books. So many of us are introverts, and even though I'm an extrovert, I'm a shy extrovert, and ... finding the balance between making a new friend and gaining a reader is difficult.
But it's an essential step in the Indie process - and, actually, something you'll probably have to face even if you go Traditional. So we're going to talk about it, and maybe something we say will be helpful.
(My basic recommendation - throw lots of parties. People love parties.)
You will notice that I've added an extra bar at the top of my blog - an extra set of pages. Do click through and explore all of them, I've got some great fun lined up.
Indie e-Con is free, and you're going to get a LOT of information thrown at you, as well as opportunities to ask for specific information. You're also going to be given chances to have YOUR writing critiqued by the authors. As such, I ask that you consider purchasing some of our books. One book, from at least one author, that's all I ask. More than that would be lovely, but try to get at least one book - a lot of the authors have theirs for 99 cents on kindle. I'd also like to ask that you leave a review for at least one Indie Book.
Oh, and I'd like to point out that there's a participation prize for the person who participates the most in Indie e-Con. Details are on this page. Last of the bullet Points.
Today's "Watch the Author Write" will be me, and I'll be writing at 2:00-3:00 PM CST on this document. Don't miss it!
