More than a Reflection

First off - my 600th post here on Knitted By God's Plan! Whoo! Another milestone to celebrate!

Now for the title. I thought I'd share the opening that my sister had so excitedly written all those years ago. The story has come a long way since then, as has her writing, but since I just happen to have it on my computer (I rescued all of the files that had been on that old computer and moved them over here), I'll let ya'll see it.
Via Pinterest
Oh, and by the way, most of the planets have changed their names since this was written. I'll be writing the post about the worlds and cultures when I get home from work today, so you'll find out what they are now.

Chapter 1

In the Garden.

A young blond headed girl sat in her garden crying.
“ Why do I have to be a Mix breed Reflector? Why could not I be stronger in something else like Swicheroo, or a Chef! Or maybe even Healer, or Blender, or something else, not Reflector?” She sobbed.
She had once again gotten into a fight with the castle guard for no apparent reason, they had just been talking and she asked if he had seen Rayelm, her personal guard. He had had a bad day. And got mad, and said that if he knew where everybody was he wouldn’t be a guard, and she got mad and said that was no way to address the princess and well that started a fight, and she ran to her garden to hide. She was the princess of the planet Gildiware she should be able to control herself but because she was so strong Reflector she was forced to reflect whether she wanted to or not. She was able to reflect others feelings and if you were being stubborn, then she would be stubborn. If you were grouchy, then she would be grouchy. But then again if you were in a good mood, then she would be in a good mood.
Oh why, Oh why ,OH WHY,” she continued to sob.
Just then her identical twin sister walked into the garden “Why what, Kathie?” she asked.
Why could We not be stronger in something else than reflector?” She answered.
Kathie you are doing a good job of being a blender right now. Besides Reflector isn’t all that bad.” She told her. “ You can take pictures of books with your mind and read them whenever you want. I cannot do that, I only know where I saw the information and see the cover. You can see the entire book.”
Kathie stopped crying “ That is true.” she sniffed. “Katie you are wonderful.” She added smiling.
Well think that for as long as you like but Dad said he wanted us to have supper with him for our Birthday in the Royal Quart.” Katie said
Kathie groaned. The twins hated the prying eyes of the court. They expected them to act like princesses. They hated the fact that they could do nothing without the entire solar system of Soynee knowing.
Oh well.” Kathie sighed “ I guess we had better turn in to Sarah to get ready for the entire world to know we turned fifteen,” she said sarcastically
Katie laughed “At least we do not have to worry about this our entire lives we soon will be having fun with the stars running the Eagle and her crew around the universe for the next 400 years of our lives. Discovering new life forms and keeping the peace with the ones that we already know about.” She said
Kathie smiled, “I cannot wait, but… race you to Sarah.” She yelled over her shoulder as she half ran, half flew to the castle. Literally.
No fair, you got a head start, and can fly.” Katie said as she took off running at a speed that would of easily passed up even the fastest horse.

Chapter 2

Getting ready for a Banquet.

I won.” Katie shouted just loud enough for Kathie to hear a few steppes behind her.
“ Runners can always beat flyers when going up stairs.” She said as soon as she had landed.
Girls, what would your father think if he saw you racing like a couple of tomboys?” A tall, young looking woman with fire red hair and spectacles opening the door.
Both girls looked down. “Yes Sarah.” They chorused.
In you go, you Both will need a bath, and your best dress Ironed, and your hair done up. Before I will let you down to the Banquet you father the King has planned in celebration of your fifteenth Birthday.” Sarah said shooing them inside their room to be turned into Princesses.
Kathie was the first to speak up “Sarah, do you think that Daddy invited the entire galaxy, or just most of it?”
Sarah laughed. “ You know your father, He probably invited quite a few people just not the entire galaxy. I know that I saw at least six of the seven planet’s royal families arrive today.” She said trying not to laugh while saying it.
Both twins groaned. “As long as he did not invite the creatures from the planet Aama,” She said
Aama was the planet closest to their sun and it is hot there the only creatures that lives there are the Hamons which are a type of dragon.
There were actually eight planets but only seven had what we would call human life on them. There was Aama which was the first, then came Baliga, then Gildiware, then Delphie, Eron, Calpa, Homon, And the last was Zan. These eight planets orbited their star Soynee which was a lot like our sun just a bit smaller.
The twins knew all this stuff they had visited all the planets many times already while practicing flying the Eagle, their Personal space ship… well not exactly Personal but they were the captain of it as soon as they turned sixteen they would be able to leave their solar system behind and discover new ones. Kathie fingered her uniform a black strait skirt that went to her ankles, a light pink polo shirt, and a pink scarf that acted like a force field, and a pink daisy with a ruby in the middle of it. This she picked up, and twisted the gem.
Goat girl to Eagle come in Eagle.” “ It responded.
Katie ad Gave Kathie a look that said what are you doing. Kathie Ignored it. And responed in to the flower “ Which of the Planets have not arrived yet to the Banquet?”
the Planet of Zan.” The Ship informed her.

Was it invited?”

Nutcracker Advent Day 2

My nutcrackers come in all shapes and sizes. This one here isn't my smallest, but he's close to it. He was a Christmas present from V, but I don't remember how old we were when she gave him to me, nor does she remember where she got him. We're debating whether it was the AWANA store (unlikely), Walmart (more probable) or a dollar store (also very probable).

There aren't really any funny stories or anecdotes about this one, although he's missing his beard. Guess he thought that I didn't want a guy who looked like Santa Clause or something like that.

He's also the only one I own that has sequins on him, if that's interesting.

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom's birthday is this week, and in honor of this, I have decided to do up a post with all of the sheep I've found on Pinterest. My mom collects them, you see. Has something to do with the fact that her name means "Ewe."

And also, since I'm her biggest fan, I'm going to share with ya'll some of her writing. Sure, she wrote about half of "Saffron's Big Plan" and "Tears, Frogs, and Laughter," but I'm going to share with you some writing that was done long before I even picked up a pencil. (and some of it before she even met my dad!)

Suddenly, Shasta jerked upright. Had she been asleep, she wondered. What had woken her up? She glanced around the room and then at her clock. Six-thirty, her mother would be home in half an hour. She had to get dinner started or her mother would be upset. Stretching and rubbing her eyes, Shasta managed to get to her feet.
She was almost to the door when she heard it again, someone had knocked on a door. She glanced in the direction of the front door, puzzled. No, the sound had come from ... from her room she realized with sudden fear.
“Who’s there?” she asked, her voice shaking in fear.
She heard the knock again, it was coming from her closet!
Trembling, she edged her way over to the door and flung it open. There stood a little boy – no, it wasn’t a boy, it was a little man.

“He must have escaped from a circus,” she thought, glancing down at the strangely dressed man.

Homgloff smiled. “Yes, you must be very thirsty after walking through the Forbidden Lands of Eternal Mist.” He offered her a goblet of green liquid. “Although most of us call it the Place Between.”
The goblet felt warm as she accepted it, but the green liquid inside was very cold. She had expected water, but this was sweet. As she drank it, she could feel the strength returning to her legs. “What is it?” she asked as she returned the goblet to its owner.
“Just a little something I came up with, a sort of tea.” He smiled for the first time.

Flewder stood up. For the first time Shasta could see the amazing archer who had saved her life. Her jaw dropped in amazement.
It was a boy, maybe as old as eight. His skin was yellow orange and his eyes large pools of chocolate which shone as he smiled down on her. His dark brown hair was short and went every which way, and needed a good combing. He had no shirt on, but a large bow was slung over his shoulder and a strap held a container of arrows. He reached down a hand. “Hi Shasta. I’ve been expecting you. I’m Elroi.”
She shook his hand and then rolled over to get to her knees and stand. She was in for another surprise, for just as she looked up to stand, she realized a pair of hooves stood before her. “Hooves?” she thought. She struggled to her feet and looked down at the boy in astonishment. He had no legs! Well, he had legs, just not human legs. He looked like a goat from the waist down and had four hooves instead of feet.
“Never seen anything like me before, have ya?” the boy giggled. “I’ll bet you think I’m a little boy too. Not true. I’m forty-three years old!”

Jay,” Rosánna gasped as they stepped into a clearing, “Jay it’s beautiful. This little clearing in the middle of the woods, just you and me, nobody else. I do wish I didn’t have to go tomorrow. I’ll be so lonely after I leave.”
So will I,” Jay said with a sigh, “you’re so much company. Traveling with the other six rangers on that mission is going to be very boring. That is compared to the last month, even if it is very dangerous. Say, after I get back, I get sort of a vacation. I can come see you then.”
That would be nice,” Rosánna said wistfully as they sat down on the long soft grass. “I will be looking forward to your visit. I’m positive that you’ll come back from that mission all right. Seven is said to be a lucky number, and you’re the seventh.”
Yes, you’re right,” Jay said with a quick smile, I’m young and strong and …”
And you can shoot well, very fast,” Rosánna interrupted.
Yes, that too. I’ve made it this far and I’m still alive. Why can’t I make it further?” he finished.
That’s the spirit,” Rosánna said encouragingly.

My Sister's New Blog!!

Hi! I'm Sarafina!

And I'm Mariposa!

And our author says that we can come and tell you all about her sister's new blog!!!!

Ummmm .... Girls, back up here .... I'm not your author, Kathie is.

Kathie's our baby sister.

Ummm ... no, V, then. V's your author. You're going to tell about her new blog.

I thought you were our author, Kendra ...

No ... V is. True, I did come up with you two, and I have written about you ... but V's officially your author.

We like you better Kendra. You understand us.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but V's your author, and you're just going to have to live with the fact. Anyways, readers, I'd like to introduce ya'll to Elsie and Elise, a pair of twins that I came up with for my sister's sci-fi series. They think they're mine, but they're insane.

We're not insane. We're SILLIONS!!!

And sillions are the definition of insane. I'm well aware of that fact. Anyways, Elsie's the one talking in purple, while Elise is fuchsia. And, girls, weren't you here for a reason ...

We were?

Oh! Yes! That's right! We were going to tell all of your readers about our baby sister's new blog!

Ummmm ... oh, never mind.

It's called I'm Singin' my own song, and it's LOTS and LOTS of fun.

And we like fun.

So come over and check it out, and follow it and give her a nice big kiss and tell her how much you love her.

ELSIE!!! You know V doesn't like kisses. I think I'll take over from here. My sister, V. Kathie Ardnek has decided to start a new blog for her writing. She has a school/Spiritual walk blog, but has recently decided that she needs a blog to talk about her writing.

And to tell all of you all about us!!!

I thought I told you two to be quiet. Anyways, come on over and hit the follow button. She has dyslexia, though, so sometimes what she says doesn't quite make sense, but she has a lively imagination, and loves to make things up ...

September Goals

My Mom wants me to write down my goals for this September. So ... I guess it won't hurt me to do so.

Right now our house is chaos ... well almost so. We're trying to get it rearanged so that an aunt can move into the middle trailer this October. Have I ever mentioned that my family lives in three trailers/mobile homes stuck right up against each other, two of them are connected ... the other, isn't.

But that's not the point, the point is that we're loosing the middle trailer this October, and therefore we need to get all of our stuff out of it. It's complicated. Check out my Mom's blog if you want to look for details. I'm Story over there, if you do check it out.

So ... what are my personal goals amidst the chaos that is my life?

School:

1. Finish reading Howard Pyle's Robin Hood and G.A. Henty's Wulf the Saxon. I'm almost done with both,  it's all a matter of actually looking them back up on my Kindle for PC and finishing them.
2. Finish reading The Second American Revolution by something Whitehead. I can't think of the guy's first name off the top of my head, and I don't feel like looking for the book at the present second. This is for government.
3. Two chapters in Chemistry and Physical Science. Yeah, I'm going through two science books at once. When I finish with them, I've got Biology and Physics. Then I'm done with science. Yay!

My Room:

1. Empty the three four boxes and reclaim my floor.
2. Clean off my two desks. Yes. I have two desks. A knitting table and a normal desk. I also have a cabinet with a door that folds down - this makes an excellent stand up desk.

Chores:

1. Find the garden. It got devoured by weeds during the rainy season.
2. Find my school desk. This is the desk that is not in my room. And it's currently buried.
3. I'm sure my mom will come up with more projects for me.

Writing and Blogging:

1. Have Do You Take This Quest? sent to at least one of my editors. My Grandma probably. This is more for grammar editing. I've got to get the plot stuff done on my own. It's giving me a headache.
2. Write and post at least ten reviews on the O!Scarlett blog. (link can be found above in my pages bar) I have books read, I just need to write up reveiws.
3. Post at least 15 blog entries here. I'm sitting at four if I remember right, so I'm ahead at the moment.
4. Finish reading David Copperfield so that Clara can post a review for it on her blog. (Clara's Classics, again see above.) I've seen the BBC movie (TWICE) but I haven't finished reading the book.

There, that sounds good enough.
