NaNoWriMo

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm on my knees humbly begging forgiveness for waiting this long to post anything...
Um, never mind.
I participated in something called NaNoWriMo this year http://ywp.nanowrimo.org. It's a yearly program where everyone jumps on their computers and notebooks and try to spit out a certain number of words in just one month. The default (and mandatory in the adult program, to which you can find a link to in the kid program) number is 50,000, but my mom gave me a more realistic number for my hectic schedule (or lack thereof), 30,000.
I made it.
I wasn't sure if I would, but I did.
I got thirty thousand words written this month.

And here I am, typing more...
Speed practice, that's what this is, speed practice...
Never mind.

I meant to post about this earlier, but I never got around to it. If you want to participate (it's fun really, although it wears out your fingers) you'll have to wait until next year, since today's the last day, and I know that it's humanly impossible to write that many words in one day.

I hear they have a July program, I'll see if I can get a link, I had fun this go round.

I'm told that the July one is easier, as it's twenty-three hours longer (November time change, we have and extra hour that month), and you can start with an already started novel.

The book I wrote this year was called "Sew, It's a Quest" and is fantasy. It sprang from an idea my mom and I had to "finish the fairy tales".

I mean, did Sleeping Beauty really like the guy who barged in and woke her up from her peaceful slumber? Somehow, I don't find that a very good first impression.

It was way more complex than that, I found, writing this book, I'll post the first chapter in my next post ... as soon as I finish proofreading it.

I wasn't very careful this month, while I was speed typing, and a lot of errors got in it. Don't worry, there aren't too many. I should have them corrected quickly enough.
