For Me

On the cross, my Saviour died.
On the cross- 'twas crucified.
Oh! The gift that He there gave me.
For to think, He died to save me!

In a tomb, he then was laid,
With soldiers to guard against a raid.
I do not think he came to shame me.
The truth is this: He rose to claim me!

Seated by God's own right hand,
Listening to a heavenly band,
Do not think he ceased to weep me.
Day by day, he lives to keep me!

Living, now, up above,
Daily showing me his love.
He promised never to forsake me-
And some glad day he'll come to take me!
